Sept 24, 2009 Zeo's Beach, 12:15, 14º in the water (can this be right?), sunny, light breeze, smallish waves.
1 large flounder
4 - 5 White-spotted Greenlings
50 + Shiner Perch, juveniles and adults
3 LARGE salmon, 1 wild chinook, 250 mm
2 hatchery chinooks (coho?), 260 and 450 mm
<100 Sculpins
We tried to lavage the salmon, but they were so large the rubber tube didn't go very far down their throats. One obliged us by throwing up a Sand Lance into the anesthesia water.

I wasn't there. Does someone have the data?

It was sunny with a slight breeze. This may have been Brown's last time here, though we caught so many large salmon that he may be back.

Sept 11 Cowlitz #3
Fish included 1 chinook, Tubesnout, Striped Perch, Staghorn Sculpin. We also got coonstripe shrimp.
Sept 11 Cowlitz #4 2:30, a deep set by the big alder
This midday pull was kind of hopeless. Young salmon tend to go deeper this time of day. Catch included Silverspotted Greenling, Striped Perch, a sculpin with a green mouth and one with a cream mouth, Pipefish, lots of greenlings, and some big Lion's Mane Jellies.
Sept 11 Cowlitz #5 5:15, a deep set near the dock
This was still too early in the day to be right, but we thought we'd try a few more times before the Lopez group went home. We got 1 chinook and many other fish.
Sept 11 Cowlitz #6, 5:30, a deep set near the dock
No salmon, many other fish including large sculpins and flatfish.
At this time of day, the air was swarming with midges. One person who was wearing a green shirt was covered with them. When we lavaged the chinook, many of them had been eating midges or termites.
