July 18, 2009 Cowlitz Dock, early flood, 12:05, 14.2ºC in water, hot and cloudless.
We did three tows, one near the dock, one about 100 meters towards Disney, and the third further out, but near the dock. Each tow had a different collection of fish, the first with many juvenile Copper Rockfish, the second including Tubesnouts, and the third with the largest juvenile chinook so far in the season. This underscores the need to know what kind of fish you want to seine for and where to find that particular fish.
The data was all recorded on one sheet. In a few days, I should get the information separated out into the three tows. For now,
Chinook, from 72 - 182 mm. Several of them were lavaged and fin-clipped.
Kelp Greenlings, from 80 - 102 mm,
White-spotted Greenlings, from 89 - 251 mm,
Copper Rockfish (might be Quillback Rockfish), from 86 - 213 mm,
68 Striped Perch, not measured,
Sculpins, including Great and Buffalo Sculpins,
Tubesnouts
Kelp and Dungeness Crabs, small shrimp, comb jellies.

July 18, 2009 Zeo's Beach, full flood, 14:45, 14.3º in water, hot and windy.
We did two tows here, and found mostly Pacific (True) Cod:
244 Pacific Cod, from 91 - 144 mm. Ten of them were lavaged and their stomach contents combined.
1 White-spotted Greenling,
11 Sand Lance

July 18, 2009 Severson Cove, 15:45, hot.
We did one tow and found some sculpins and many very small flatfish, one of which was swallowed by a crew member on a dare. These things happen..
